Introducing local designer Anastasia Chatzka

Posted by Heather Kenny on 06.26.09 at 11:04 AM

It's hardly the most welcoming economic climate in which to open a boutique. But that hasn't deterred Anastasia Chatzka, whose shop featuring her self-titled line holds a grand opening party (with drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and sweets) on Saturday. Chatzka, a graduate of Chicago's International Academy of Design & Technology, worked for Anna Sui and Betsey Johnson in New York before returning here to focus on her own line. Like her former bosses, Chatzka loves bright colors--pink, blue, green, and yellow--and her 50s-inspired designs put me in mind of a slightly more demure Katy Perry.

The shop is at 1740 W. Division.

UPDATE: The opening party will start around 2 PM and the store will be offering 15 percent off dresses.
