If you've been reading Ben Joravsky on the Olympics - and his latest column is infuriating - you won't learn much new, but it's a pretty big thing to have Rick Telander (who would obviously have a lot of professional interest in the games) come out swinging against the 2016 Olympics.
Seriously, though, read Joravsky's latest, about how the plan for the games includes tearing down a renovated pool and gym that we just spent $30 million on.
Update: Actually, I undersold Telander's column. Joravsky points out the key parts that aren't getting enough attention.

Ben Joravsky is a real pro who takes his craft seriously. Ben is the only reporter in town researching and providing excellent insight on developer socialism by the Daley administration and the back-room tax increment financing money he gives away to the well connected. More reporters should become educated on TIF policies. It's a TAX increase and we should hope our radio, t.v., bloggers and newspaper reporters start reporting on this area of finance since Chicago may have to cut jobs and city services. Money needs to be used to cover inflating cost in the budget, WHY NOT USE TIF FUNDS? The better way to explain TIF'S would be to report it as tax payer money to corporate coffers; I think that would work!
