Free Shit / Swag 5/16-5/22 -- Free Admission to the Art Institute

To celebrate the opening of the Renzo Piano-designed Modern Wing, the Art Institute is offering a week of free admission to the entire museum from Saturday 5/16 to Friday 5/22. Opening day, Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, also features a program of festivities on the Monroe Street outdoor stage, including Swing Gitan, Muntu Dance Theatre Chicago, the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band, Wooten Ensemble, L'Orchestre Super Vitesse, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. More musicians perform inside the new Modern Wing's galleries.
