Walk, don't run, to the Holocaust Museum

Posted By on 04.17.09 at 10:59 AM

They're working around the clock at the new Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, just south of at Old Orchard Road and the Edens in Skokie, but at this morning's press preview, 48 hours before a grand opening starring Bill Clinton, what was mostly on view was scaffolding, tools, and carpenters.  The kids' area--including a wall-size antibullying video game featuring interactive frogs--will be ready for the first school groups, set to go through on Tuesday, but the rest of the exhibits in the Stanley Tigerman-designed paired-building structure were mostly absent, waiting for the contractors and their dust to leave. Give it a month or so.
