Late last month I stopped by the eco-chic boutique Pivot for a party launching its new vintage section, curated by Monica Dimperio of local street-style blog the Midwasteland. What's secondhand clothing doing in a shop that specializes in clothes and accessories made with green materials and processes? Well, the idea is that that vintage clothing is inherently earth friendly. And in our drain-circling economy, it helps that the prices are super reasonable--they start at about $30. I particularly liked the selection of accessories, especially a simple brown clutch and an oversized brooch in the shape of a rotary phone. Dimperio told me she trawls places like Village Thrift and the Salvation Army for her finds, which included the dress she was wearing (click on images).
