For the next week Facets Cinematheque is screening Milk in the Land, a 2008 documentary by Ariana Gerstein and Monteith McCollum about the culture and politics that have shaped the milk industry. Theatre Mir presents The Arab-Israeli Cookbook, a play by Robin Soans based on interviews with Israelis and Palestinians. Set in restaurants, cafes, stores, and kitchens, the production explores their everyday lives as characters prepare traditional recipes onstage. The Spice House hosts a class with chef Kristine Subido of Wave exploring how to cook with and create spice-infused oils and syrups. The menu includes seared tuna, seafood salad with paprika and lemon-infused oil, garlic olive oil poached chicken, risotto with roasted porcini mushrooms and infused oil, and glazed strawberries with vanilla gelato and balsamic glaze. 2:30-4:30 PM, Wave, 644 N.
