Flatfile's Closing

Posted by Deanna Isaacs on 03.03.09 at 10:04 AM

Flatfile Galleries, which helped put the West Loop art district on the map, will close March 27 after a nine-year run. Owner Susan Aurinko blames the bad economy for the demise of the five-gallery space at 217 N. Carpenter. Flatfile's innovative programming included artist Wafaa Balil 's interactive shoot-me-with-a-paintball installation, Domestic Tension. We'll have the full story in The Business, this week.
