Posted by Julia Thiel on 02.10.09 at 06:22 PM

Wednesday at 7 PM at the Cultural Center's Claudia Cassidy Theater (78 E. Washington), the AFTRA/SAG Senior Radio Players, a group formed "for the purpose of keeping alive the uniqueness of radio as the theater of the imagination," performs The Lady Eve. A comedy about a father-daughter team of cardsharps, the script was written for the movie starring Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda, and a version was broadcast in 1942 on CBS's Lux Radio Theater. This performance uses voice actors, sound effects artists, and a live keyboard player to recreate the original radio broadcast.
