Former Soul Train host Don Cornelius, 72, was arrested Friday night in Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic violence, according to the Associated Press. Cornelius, who sold Soul Train to MadVision Entertainment earlier this year, was released on $50,000 bail and ordered to appear in court next month. For a look at Soul Train's origins as a local dance show on WCIU in the early 70s, see Jake Austen's recent Reader feature.
