Take me to the river, continued

Posted by Mick Dumke on 06.20.08 at 11:04 AM

In the past I've heard some Water Reclamation District commissioners say they'd love to get the Chicago River and canal system cleaned up, except the costs appear formidable--in the hundreds of millions of dollars, at least, for new technology to disinfect effluent from the wastewater treatment process. Now the agency is officially taking a firmer stand against new standards proposed by the Illinois EPA, as reported in this terrific in-depth piece by Northwestern grad student Lea Radick.

The word on the strrets is Alderman Banks walked a criminal out of lockup, after being charged with a felony gun possession charge, BEFORE the thug was even processed. The Thug had a weapon with a filed off serial number, and the barrel and groove of the gun was altered to prevent identification. Do made men have clout beyond the average garden vaeiety criminal?

Why are these same stupid posts going up on threads that they have no relation to? These boards are becoming juvenile and useless and that's a shame.

"Why are these same stupid posts going up on threads that they have no relation to? These boards are becoming juvenile and useless and that's a shame." The shame is that you've got nothing more valuable to post than complaining about the lack of intelligent comments, all the while posting nothing that's not already obvious to all. Read the article(s), consider what's being said and share your opinion(s). What, pray tell, is stopping you?
