Police politics

Posted by Mick Dumke on Fri, Nov 2, 2007 at 5:44 PM

Mayor Daley doesn't think much of the move by 28 aldermen to go to court to get the city to cough up the list of cops with the most citizen complaints--the other day he pulled a Richard Nixon and accused them of kicking the police when they're down.

And earlier this week he reportedly pulled aside one of the aldermen and warned him that his political career would suffer as a result. Alderman Howard Brookins Jr., alderman of the 21st Ward, said the mayor told him that he may blow his chance to win the Democratic primary for Cook County state's attorney if he continued to push for publicizing the cop list. "The mayor told me I shouldn't have signed on to the resolution," Brookins said. "He said it wouldn't go over well in the 'ethnic community.'"

Meaning white people. Brookins, who is black, told the story with a chuckle. He's clearly decided that his best bet to win the nomination is to increase his attacks on police misconduct, thus firing up African-Americans and liberal whites. It's not a bad strategy in a primary pitting just one black candidate--him--against a Latina and three white guys: prosecutor Robert Milan, Cook County commissioner Larry Suffredin, and 38th Ward alderman Tom Allen--who, like most of his "ethnic" northwest- and southwest-side colleagues, didn't join the effort to get the complaint list made public.

Still, even some Daley allies who would never utter a critical word about the police in public are anxious for the mayor to settle on a long-term leader for the department. While one alderman, the Ninth Ward's Anthony Beale, publicly called for interim superintendent Dana Starks to get the permanent job during budget hearings last week, most others were effusive in praising the department and silent about Starks himself.

Daley rejected the last list of superintendent candidates forwarded to him by the Chicago Police Board, the group of mayoral appointees responsible for starting the superintendent hiring process and hearing certain police disciplinary appeals. Demetrius Carney, the board's president, said this week that the next group of names is almost ready. "My search firm is giving me me a new notebook of candidates on Monday [November 5]," he said.

Carney sounded tired of the superintendent search and questions about who's going to be considered and who isn't. "Everybody's asking me about it," he said. "I tell them, 'I don't know, and I don't even want to know.'"

Brookins is a ghetto hack politician that rode into politics on his father's name. He almost lost his aldermanic seat with good reason. I will never vote for this hypocritical scum for any reason. Hey Howard, if you're so moralistic and ethically inclined, riddle me this; HOW MANY OF YOUR PEERS HAVE YOU TURNED IN FOR ILLEGAL, IMMORAL OR UNETHICAL ACTS? answer-0. As a State's Attorney you'd make a hell of a shyster -traffic court -ambulance chaser. You undistinguished party hack.

"The mayor told me I shouldn't have signed on to the resolution," ...... "He said it wouldn't go over well in the 'ethnic community.'" Shit, man, according to the mayor, the fact that there are still negroes living in Chicago doesn't go over well with the white people HE knows. No surprise there.

Howard Brookins is too liberal and pro-criminal. He has no stature or demeanor

normally I would be against Brookins, but in his quest to reveal the names of some thug White and Latino COPS I am in his corner. SOS is nothling but Daley's legal death squad. Some Whiteboys get charged up at the prospect of gunning down Black people, innocent or guilty. Some of these individuals even cheated to get on the police department. If the CHICAGO POLICE HAVE NOT SOLVED A MAFIA MURDER IN 50 YEARS,HOW CAN YOU CONSIDER THEM TO BE HONEST.6THE FBI NEEDS TO JAIL THE THE CRIMINAL ELEMENT IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Howard Brookin's campaign manager is: MICHAEL NOONAN MICHAEL NOONAN is the partner of VICTOR REYES who is soon to be indicted as the head of the criminal organization HDO and in the Snitzer law suit. NOONAN AND VICTOR REYES were probably talking about that on Thursday afternoon. NOONAN is the same lying clown that brought you TODD STROGER. NOONAN is a corrupt lobbyist like Jack Abramoff (the same law firm as Victor Reyes) Reyes is a corrupt evil influence on politics and Brookins should not have criminals influencing his administration.

Mick mentions an unnamed Latina, while granting all of the white males the dignity of a name. Anita Alvarez has been a prosecutor with the State's Attorney's Office for 21 years, more prosecuting experience than any other candidate.

Anita Alvarez is a scared tool for Daley and Devine. She said nothing while the coerced confessions and innocent people went to death row. Alvarez did nothing about police torture. Devine's office is a joke for minorities. Alvarez is unknown in her own Latinos community. Brookins will get the minority vote.

Brookins is already into the pockets of the machine. With Nooonan of resolute Consulting if Brookin wins ,Machine interest will be protected. The States Attorney rarely prosecutes politicians ,execept a few Black one. Corruption will go unabated, just like under in other hack States Attorney. Brookin may prosecute a few corrupt cops to keep the Black community happy.

Mick, there has been another AAmerican in the race since it's been an open seat, Tommy Brewer. Since it plays to your meme, you might want to include at least his name.

Do you really think the people of KKKook County are going to elect an eggplant as the chief law enforcement person in the county. First look for whites to coalesce around a single candidate, there is already tremendous pressure on Sufferden to drop out in favor of Tom Allen, much like Quigley stepping aside for Claypool for the County President race. Secondly, once the race really gets going, the powers that be are going to peel Brookins as easy as a boiled potatoe. He will be painted as a friend to crimminals and an enemy of the police to the extent not seen since the Wille Horton campaign against Dukakis by Bush I. Look for the great black hope, Obama, to sit on the sidelines during the primary and then endorse Tom Allen in the General Election against Periaca. You heard it here first. Everything is gonna be alright.

Imitation: 6 : the assumption of behavior observed in other individuals. So then, orion is acknowledging that those who 'imitate' his posts are accurately mimicking his authentic behaviors. "I love being an oreo! Bite me!" "Try my double stuff!!" "I am king, just like Daley. Don't delete me, because Daley will delete you! Ha!" "I command everyone to worship Daley right now!!" "I wonder if my millions will keep me and Daley out of hell? At least, we can use them as blankets there." "Hey Mick, I love this topic! I love how Mayor Daley recycles me!" "Too bad that I will rot in hell with Daley. Maybe my money will keep me warm there!" "I command everyone to pray to Mayor Daley right now!!!!!!!!!!" "I come out to be Daley's slave!" "Because Barack is a slave like me!! Get it??" "Did Junior at least give you a reach around or offer a napkin to wipe the corner of your mouth Mick ? Geez, Kate is in love with Huberman, Mick in love with Junior. So much for media objectivity." "I have a fake penis." "No, the rest of the day I set up Johns for your mother." "mee izz a daley ho!!!!!!" "oh dick daley your so fine you blow my mind hey dick hey dick" "Skeptical Brotha, Shut the fuck up! We love being enslaved by the machine and don't you forget it!" "I give a shit because I respond to every post. *wahhhhhhhhhhh*" "i love how daley's cops whoop everyone...go daley!!!" "I love how everyong tries to hijack my name. I must really be in your heads. You folks are so gullible, just like the electorate." "me gullable too 4 supportin daley! *wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh*" "Tell people to stop committing crime and you won't have to worry about cops you losers!" Authentic orion, often imitated, rarely duplicated.

So word is that Brookins has challenged Anita Alvarez and Tommy Brewer's petitions. Isn't Brookins campaign centerpiece that there is not enough minority inclusion in the State's Attorney's Office? Given that Anita and Tommy are the only other 2 minorities in this race, apparently Howard Brookins definition of minority inclusion only extends to himself. Using a challenge is supposed to be to root out petition fraud. Brookins uses it for smarmy political gain. He is the fraud!
