The music blog Ryan's Smashing Life has mp3s from Bob Dylan's 1963 appearance with Studs Terkel on WFMT, including what's apparently the first recording of "Boots of Spanish Leather," which he plays when Terkel charmingly requests a love song. All the tracks are worth a listen (the interview is mixed in with the music), but that one's really a tear-jerker. Get 'em while they're still online.
It's the third-best bit of Dylan marginalia I've ever heard, behind "Blind Willie McTell," an Infidels outtake featuring Mark Knopfler (bootleg video here), and "Foot of Pride," yet another Infidels outtake--seriously, WTF?--which Lou Reed had the good taste to cover for Dylan's anniversary tribute blowout.

Hi. Man, talk about timing! I was about to pull these down! For the courtesy of your readers, I will definitely leave up a bit longer. This is one gem of a recording! Studs Terkel is magnificant in this rare studio session. Probably one of the greatest - and certainly one of the best quality early recordings I have ever shared. If you click in the banner you can check out the more recent material. Cheers, Ryan
