How Randolph Street tastes

Posted by Martha Bayne on Thu, Jun 14, 2007 at 6:27 PM

Last year a freak windstorm threated to blow away our tent at the annual Taste of Randolph Street--but even without that kind of excitement ToRS, which runs Friday through Sunday on, yes, Randolph between Racine and Peoria, is still a cut above the average summer street fair.  No parboiled ribs here--if you can handle the crowds it's possible to eat shockingly well, with neighborhood restaurants like La Sardine and Sushi Wabi putting out a range of (relatively) paper-plate friendly bites. The music's usually a cut above the norm as well: this year's highlghts include Fountains of Wayne (Friday) and the Walkmen (Saturday). See our schedule for the complete lineup.
