LOL... where can I buy this?

The Olympics will bring with it tons of federal tax money that WILL fix the 'L. That's reason enough to get fired up about the bid.

Yeah, since we've waited almost 100 years in some cases, what's another nine years. Better late than... well, even later...

Hah -- some additional federal dollars might match whatever local taxpayers will pay out to shore up the L for the Games, but the L will be 'fixed' only to the degree necessary to get people to and from the Games. Other important projects -- particularly those to build out transit in underserved, poor neighborhoods -- still won't get done. If you aren't in the path of people's way from the hotels to the games, you won't see much benefit (and even if you are, you might just lose your house or business). Hence, Mayor Daley pokes his head out and declares that we need a 'cross-town' L line for the games, but we won't get Red Line extension south, necessary rehab of existing lines, and so on. http://www.fourredstars.com

Perhaps if there's insatiable demand, I'll see what I can do as far as making it available, which is easy in the days of the Internet. I'll keep you updated.

how about threadless? they are always looking for new designs. www.threadless.com (i don't work for them)

Thought about that (they seem to use better materials than CafePress); perhaps the design is too much of local interest? Might be worth a try.

But Threadless IS local - they'd print it - no questions asked!!!

Yes, agreed -- submit it to Threadless and let's vote it up. Great, great, design.

Whet, you must do it. This would go really well with my new Free Imus tee.

You'd have to get a lot of people to vote for it to get Threadless to print it, I think. The whole thing is based on voting and numbers of votes. But like I said, I want this. Beats my design of the torch with a dollar bill burning at the top of it...

Well, hell, why not. It'll be fun to see what happens. Wednesday and Thursday are my Bad Days, so it might not happen until Friday (I'll have to redo it 'cause it's low res), but I'll get it to Threadless.

Hey I'll print it -- I need the money more than threadless does :)

This is an excellent idea. It would also be cool to elaborate on the design and extend the current L map into an ideal L. For example - extend the red line further south, etc. Larry mentioned the fact that whatever gets fixed on the L will probably be tailored to Olympic-goers, and parts of the L that need to be fixed won't be. I agree, and I think that sucks.

Nice in concept, Yiran, but unless you want people spending long minutes staring at your T-shirt, Whet's original simpler design may do the job better. Either way, I want to have enough to be able to wear one every day this summer...
