From the files of Ivan Brunetti

Posted by Whet Moser on 03.15.07 at 02:35 PM

Hangover Sunday, the proprietor of which turned me on to Ivan Brunetti (a sometime Reader contributor) before he was cool enough for Yale University Press, located an online sampler of the misanthropic genius's work. The fact that he once did a long comic about the life of Soren Kierkegaard makes total sense.

The Highwater strips are great, if you're into the mature Brunetti. But the twisted, obscene Ivan is better represented by the earlier gags and panels on display at http://www.comicartcollective.com/brunetti/ (fair warning: even the titles there are nsfw). A personal favorite, "Crack Babies": http://paranoia.lycaeum.org/stories/comix/crack-babies/c-babies2.html -The Proprietor
