3-D deception

Frogview.com has a collection of trompe l'oeil paintings and images that will delight math nerds more than serious artists. Hat tip to Steve Higgins at OmniBrain, who gives the apt title, "Visual Illusions in Fine(ish) Art."
For real art that uses a bit of deception, check out Chris Jordan's stupefying images. This one is "Cans Seurat," made up of "106,000 aluminum cans, the number used in the US every thirty seconds." View the whole thing, or else. Hat tip to Project Sanguine.

The frogview.com link is nothing new - many older pieces. Regardless of the quality of the work, the bigger question in my mind is why you (and the guy at OmniBrain) would link to a site that shows artwork with no attribution information - and then not even mention that fact. None of the pictures posted credit the artist or source. How would you like it if someone copied your blog or other writings to the internet and didn't credit you? Chris Jordan is terrific, thanks for the link.
